Every batch of evoZero cement manufactured by Heidelberg Materials’ carbon-capture facility in Brevik, Norway, deposits a specific amount of captured carbon into the Carbon Bank.
When Marley manufactures Edgemere 2.0 at its concrete facility in Glasgow, we use locally sourced Heidelberg Materials’ cement to minimise costs and emissions associated with international transportation, while assigning the captured CO₂ savings from the Brevik plant to UK-produced cement. The equivalent portion of carbon savings can be withdrawn from the Carbon Bank using a mass balance approach.
This process allows each order of Edgemere 2.0 to come with complete traceability, documented through an Environmental Attribute Certificate (EAC), which is transferred directly to the end customer.
