Welborne in Hampshire is a new sustainable garden village delivering 6,000 homes designed to blend traditional character with high-performance. Roseview Windows was chosen as the fabricator to supply REHAU’s Heritage vertical slider windows for domestic and commercial properties throughout the village. Welborne is being built to a Design Code set by award-winning architectural designer Ben Pentreath OBE and reflects the traditions of Hampshire architecture and Garden City styles. Welborne’s homes require traditional sash style windows in line with the heritage-led design intent, as well as high-performance uPVC construction to ensure durability and low maintenance.
The Welborne team selected REHAU’s Heritage profile system in Roseview’s Ultimate Rose finish for its ability to replicate traditional timber aesthetics while delivering advanced modern performance. It provides thermal efficiency, aesthetic authenticity, security and long-term durability as well as achieving a cohesive heritage feel.
Welborne brings together a sustainable, thoughtfully designed community that celebrates heritage architecture and is close to nature, while offering the practicalities and comforts of modern life. The Arts and Crafts, Garden City and Queen Anne styles draw on the features of these traditions, ranging from individuality and variety, to the use of local materials, along with a deeply rooted connection to nature and the land.
To meet the detailed design specifications, Roseview supplied units built to a defined configuration. This included a white woodgrain finish, eclipse vents, Secured by Design (SBD) protection and V Flex + 4/20/4 soft clear (no-low-iron) glazing on all windows. To secure the contract, Roseview demonstrated its ability to achieve U-values of 1.3 throughout Welborne, which the REHAU Heritage vertical slider window system delivered.
Roseview has worked in partnership with REHAU for over 40 years, making them one of the longest-standing fabricators using the Heritage system. This experience ensured the smooth and reliable delivery to a highly individualised specification, with zero challenges throughout the fabrication process.
Using REHAU’s Heritage vertical slider windows, Roseview has kept authenticity at the forefront and provided the long-term performance benefits expected of modern housebuilding. This partnership highlights how heritage aesthetics and uPVC innovation can create homes that look traditional, deliver exceptional performance and require minimal maintenance.
