EGGER LONDON offers an eclectic experience for designers, specifiers and architects. Its light, bright and flowing interior comprises a design space for guests to work and collaborate on projects, digital space to access supporting tools and brand information, private space for meetings and workshops, and a welcoming hospitality space for relaxed networking. Every part of its interior is created with the designer in mind, with real-life product application merging form with function throughout. It is packed with large format samples, supporting resources, and on-hand expertise from its team.
The showroom is founded by EGGER, a global manufacturer of wood-based materials for interior design and construction. EGGER supplies a range of decorative materials for interior furniture, surfaces and wall panelling, decorative interior flooring and structural flooring, suitable for commercial and domestic projects.
At EGGER LONDON, based in Clerkenwell, EGGER showcases more than 300 finishes for furniture and flooring in a life-size sample library, with some materials in real applications across fitted furniture, working tables, networking spaces and design installations.
Visitors are also invited to explore CLEAF, an Italian company producing surfaces for furniture and interiors. Known for striking texture development and tactile finishes for furniture and interiors, CLEAF manufactures surfacing solutions at production sites in Brianza, and sees its material installed worldwide by interior architects and furniture designers, building inspiring spaces for living and working. Visitors can explore over 150 CLEAF finishes in the space.
BLUM, a global manufacturer of lift, hinge, pull out and pocket systems for furniture and interiors, focuses on solution-led product development. The company is known for its catalogue of fittings and mechanisms designed to make furniture move, rather than be moved, for a better quality of living and working.
By coming together under one roof, the three partners provide an integrated interior design solution covering a wide range of decors, fittings and flooring, alongside heavy-weight product expertise, giving its visitors the tools they need to specify with confidence, and without compromise.
Speaking at the opening of the showroom, Anna Gibson, Decorative Product Manager at Egger UK, said: “Sustainability is no longer a nice to have. It’s expected now. We’re no longer just providing product. We’re providing service, education, and helping the new generations coming through to really understand ESG. Around 49% of the board that we produce is made from recycled wood, [and] our customers love that because it adds value, not just environmentally, but commercially as well.”
Amanda Hughes, Architect and Material Design Channel Manager at Blum UK, linked sustainability directly to ergonomics and usability, arguing that better functionality leads to longer product life. “If you increase the functionality, the accessibility and the visibility of fitted furniture, you will increase its longevity,” she said. “The average kitchen lasts 15 to 20 years; we want them to last a lot longer and be designed to better suit the needs of an ageing population, because there is a direct correlation between people ageing healthily and their living environment.”
Amanda urged designers and specifiers to consider how furniture can support people over decades. Designing furniture that adapts to real human behaviour, she concluded, protects both materials and the people using them. www.egger.com/en/
