Grant UK’s range of hot water cylinders has welcomed new models in the form of the Quick Recovery 2 (QR2) Cylinders, which are manufactured at Grant Engineering’s facilities in Co Offaly, Ireland.
The Quick Recovery 2 models are single-coil cylinders which are compatible with both high and low temperature heating systems, but have been specifically designed to complement air source heat pumps such as the Grant Aerona 290 and Aerona³ heat pumps. Available in sizes from 150 litres up to 300 litres, the cylinders include standard, slimline, pre-plumbed and Smart pre-plumbed options. As well as having fast heat-up times and excellent standing heat losses, the Quick Recovery 2 cylinders are Grant’s most efficient generation of cylinders featuring ErP ‘B’ rated models within the range.
Each Quick Recovery 2 cylinder has a duplex stainless steel inner shell, features a large internal coil made from 22mm stainless steel tubing, has high levels of insulation around the cylinder shell and is completed with a galvanised outer casing. They include a factory-fitted 3kW immersion heater, labelled tapings and connections, and are supplied with an unvented kit as standard which includes an expansion vessel, inlet manifold, tundish, 2-port motorised valve and dual thermostat. Meanwhile, the pre-plumbed and Smart pre-plumbed cylinder models are supplied with a factory-fitted and pre-wired wiring centre and, with the Smart models, the Aerona Smart Controller display fitted to the cylinder, as well as factory-fitted cold water inlet pipework and primary system pipework.
The new Quick Recovery 2 cylinders are superseding Grant UK’s previous equivalent QR models. The hot water cylinder range also includes twin-coil QR models, which are high-efficiency cylinders for where two heat sources need to feed into a single hot water storage solution.
Grant UK Managing Director Paul Wakefield said: “These cylinders are being manufactured inhouse by Grant Engineering at our facilities in Birr, Ireland. While oil boilers have been manufactured at these premises for around 40 years, the production of the Quick Recovery 2 cylinders marks a new chapter of growth for our company.” www.grantuk.com/professional/products/cylinders
